love.

"I began to understand how truly powerless I was in affecting God’s love for me."-Amber Will

"The love of God is illogical. "-Forest Terry

Two great quotes from two very wise friends of mine.

went to the art museum

and this was one of my faves.

It's called 'Oh that I had wings like a dove! For then would I fly away, and be at rest.' by Frederick Leighton
"From the many events in the turbulent life of the biblical King David, Leighton chose to depict his moment of gravest doubt. Having just learned of the death of his rebellious son Absalom at the hands of his own army, David has withdrawn to a chamber above the city gate. Casting aside his crown, which lies on the floor, the ruler muses on the conflicting demands of family and nation."

choice.

"'The most beautiful life possible has always seemed to me to be one where everything is determined, either by the pressure of circumstances or by impulses...and where there is never any room for choice."
-Simone Weil in a letter to a priest

I like that. I hear it not that she doesn't want to have the option of choice, but rather that either circumstances would direct her choices easily, or her passions and desires and impulses would be so strong at moments of decision it would be as if there is no choice. I can relate to wanting life to be that way.
